REJECTED BEAUTY

The perfection of a beautiful flower is admired and adored

But as the beauty fades with time it is thrown away and forgotten

If only our reactions where not so shallow and rash

If only we could find the patience and respect

And find the time to adore this ageing beauty with it’s fading colours

and withering lines, they are rich with the story of life

This portfolio came about from my previous body of work called Resilience. Over the many months photographing flowers for my project and waiting for flowers to die and dry out, I ended up with more material to photograph and couldn’t bare the thought of throwing these flowers out, so I decided to put together another body of work called Rejected Beauty. While working with these dying and withering flowers, I couldn’t help relating to their dying petals and stems being like us growing old.
