Hidden beneath the vast ocean space

Unveiling the timeless beauty that once thrived on the ocean’s floors

Inspired from my shell collection, I envisioned a set of fine art images with a feel of moodiness and emotion. After weeks of pondering and imagination, this series called ‘The Beauty Below’ evolved into a printed reality.

When I first started out on my project, I found it somewhat difficult not to photograph these shells like they were catalogued specimens in an encyclopaedia. This problem created a challenge that I was not expecting.

With experimentation and carefully controlled lighting, I was able to fulfil my vision, finding the shell’s moodiness and emotion, and enhancing their unique structures, textures and subtle elegance.
